What is financial graphic design?

Financial graphic design is a specialized area of graphic design focused on creating visual content for the finance industry. This includes designing charts, infographics, annual reports, presentations, and marketing materials that clearly communicate complex financial data and concepts. Financial graphic designers work closely with financial professionals to ensure accuracy and clarity, making financial information more accessible and engaging to various audiences. Their work is crucial for investor relations, corporate communications, and branding in financial institutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a financial graphic designer?

To thrive as a Financial Graphic Designer, you need strong visual design skills, proficiency in data visualization, and a solid understanding of financial concepts, often supported by a degree in graphic design or a related field. Expertise in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Tableau, and Microsoft Excel is typically required to create compelling financial reports and presentations. Attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to simplify complex information are key soft skills for success in this role. These skills ensure that financial data is presented clearly and persuasively, aiding stakeholders in making informed decisions.

How does a financial graphic designer typically collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to create effective visualizations?

Financial Graphic Designers frequently work closely with financial analysts, marketing teams, and executives to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling visuals. This often involves attending strategy meetings to understand key messages, iterating on design drafts based on stakeholder feedback, and ensuring that visuals adhere to brand guidelines while accurately representing data. Effective communication and a strong grasp of financial concepts are essential, as designers must balance clarity, accuracy, and visual appeal. Collaboration tools and regular check-ins are commonly used to streamline the workflow and ensure alignment across teams.

Job description

Great work starts with a good conversation and a team that's excited to build something meaningful together.
Cline is an integrated, nationwide design firm bringing architecture, interior design, planning, landscape architecture, land planning, and branding under one roof. We partner with clients to shape places people truly experience-homes, neighborhoods, communities, and workplaces that feel intentional, human, and rooted in purpose.
We're always looking for curious, collaborative teammates: people who communicate clearly, take pride in craft, and believe the best ideas get better when disciplines work side-by-side. If you're drawn to thoughtful design, strong relationships, and a culture that supports growth (and celebrates wins along the way), we'd love to connect.
Explore our open roles and apply today-let's build what's next, together.
We are looking for a talented and experienced Interiors Project Manager in our Raleigh office.
Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Oversee Interiors Group operations, ensuring growth, profitability, and design excellence
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative design culture across the firm
  • Provide firm-wide QA/QC leadership, maintaining high standards in all project phases
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Serve as Project Manager on select projects, ensuring efficiency and quality
  • Oversee design standards, documentation, and proposal development
  • Mentor and develop staff, fostering a strong, engaged team
  • Lead hiring, performance reviews, and retention strategies with leadership
  • Maintain and expand client relationships; attend key meetings and presentations
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop business growth initiatives and branding
  • Engage in industry organizations and networking events to elevate firm visibility
  • Monitor Interiors Group financials, profitability, and project pipeline
  • Oversee team structure, PTO approvals, and performance management
  • Perform other duties as needed

What we look for
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited college or university is mandatory
  • NCIDQ certification preferred
  • Minimum nine (9) years of design experience
  • Experience in all aspects of the Design/Contract Documentation/Contract Administration process
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Suite and Excel
  • Knowledge of Lumion preferred
  • Strong graphic, visualization, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Portfolio submission required

We offer a full benefits package that include medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, supplementary insurance, flexible spending, and 401k with employer contribution. In addition, PTO, professional development assistance, and other perks are provided.
