What we do:ย 

The Engineering Program Financial Analyst serves as a key financial partner to Engineering, responsible for owning program-level purchasing processes, financial planning support, and spend governance. This role drives visibility into R&D and Engineering program financial performance, exercises independent judgment in managing purchasing workflows and budget alignment, and ensures compliance with company financial policies.

The position requires strong analytical capability, sound decision-making, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Accounting.

What you can do:

Program Financial Oversight & Decision Support

  • Own tracking and analysis of Engineering and R&D program spend against approved budgets, forecasts, and project plans.
  • Analyze committed, actual, and forecasted costs; identify variances, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate financial impact of program changes in scope, timing, or vendor strategy and advise Engineering and Finance leadership on implications.
  • Proactively identify financial risks (e.g., overspend, funding gaps) and recommend mitigation strategies.

Purchasing Governance & Process Ownership

  • Oversee purchase request and requisition processes to ensure alignment with budget, business justification, and company policy.
  • Review and approve completeness and compliance of purchasing packages prior to submission, exercising judgment to prevent downstream risk.
  • Establish and enforce timing expectations for purchase initiation relative to vendor commitments and project milestones.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for purchasing workflows, ERP processes, and financial controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a primary liaison between Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, and vendors to resolve complex issues and drive timely outcomes.
  • Influence stakeholders to ensure adherence to financial processes, documentation standards, and approval requirements.
  • Partner with program managers and Engineering leadership to align purchasing and financial execution with program objectives.

Reporting, Insights & Communication

  • Develop and deliver insight-driven reports and presentations for Engineering leadership, Finance, and executive stakeholders (including CTO-level updates).
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights that support decision-making and operational planning.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial records, while improving visibility into key program metrics.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to Engineering leadership and the CTO, particularly related to purchasing and spend tracking.

Process Improvement & Operational Effectiveness

  • Identify gaps in purchasing, tracking, and financial workflows; lead or support implementation of process improvements.
  • Recommend enhancements to tools, trackers, and reporting to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Support continuous improvement of financial and operational processes within Engineering programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
