Salary range (but not limited to):

101,800 - 124,400

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

Nous cherchons un ingenieur en mecanique du batiment pour notre service de l'indemnisation. La personne retenue jouera un role essentiel dans le soutien de notre croissance.

Dans le cadre de ses efforts continus pour mieux controler la gestion des reclamations et ameliorer l'experience des assures lors de sinistres, Intact batit une equipe interne de premier plan en investigation technique de cause et d'origine de sinistre.

En tant qu'ingenieur, vous serez donc appele quotidiennement a :

  • Aider l'equipe d'indemnisation a guider rapidement et efficacement le processus de reglement des reclamations liees aux differents systemes mecaniques dans un batiment.
  • Effectuer les mandats pour nos experts internes et nos experts externes et travailler en collaboration avec les evaluateurs en batiment.
  • Rencontrer les assures et bien comprendre les circonstances entourant leur reclamation.
  • Documenter les lieux, emettre et consigner votre opinion quant a la cause probable des dommages. En plus de consigner votre opinion par ecrit, vous serez aussi appele a intervenir pour contribuer a la resolution de conflits en cours de reclamation en apportant votre expertise technique.
  • Participer a des expertises communes de pieces et de specimens en lien avec la cause des sinistres.
  • Consigner et gerer l'entreposage des pieces reliees a vos dossiers.
  • Toute autre tache connexe.

Ce que vous mettez a profit:

Connaissances recherchees:

  • Le travail d'investigation demande une connaissance poussee des batiments, des systemes CVAC (chauffage, ventilation, climatisation), de la plomberie et de la protection incendie.
  • Par un processus d'enquete et de recherche, vous aurez a comprendre et identifier l'element causal du dommage et a eliminer les autres causes possibles.
  • Vous aurez ainsi a recreer la sequence des evenements qui a mene au sinistre et a valider ces etapes avec les connaissances scientifiques a jour.
  • En validant les hypotheses et en testant au besoin les scenarios sous etude, vous appliquerez la methode scientifique a l'identification des causes de sinistres.
  • Un baccalaureat en genie mecanique ou en sciences appliquees pertinentes avec au moins cinq ans d'experience est requis.
  • Etre un membre en regle d'un ordre professionnel relie au domaine scientifique pertinent est requis.
  • Bilingue ( Francais; Anglais).Necessite d'interagir sur une base reguliere avec des collegues partout au pays.

Competences recherchees:

  • Plus de 5 ans d'experience pertinente comme ingenieur forensique en mecanique du batiment.
  • En plus des connaissances techniques et des aptitudes physiques requises pour le poste, vous devrez communiquer avec aisance tant a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit pour la vulgarisation de la cause et l'origine du sinistre.
  • Vous devrez rediger des rapports abreges ou detailles lors de pertes importantes.
  • Vous serez appele a temoigner en cour afin d'exposer votre opinion d'expert.
  • En ce sens, une experience en assurance et en tant qu'expert devant les tribunaux serait un atout important.
