Job description

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to serve as a financial business partner to Boreal International, a Watsco subsidiary specializing in HVAC/R distribution across Latin America and the Caribbean. This role is dedicated to Boreal's financial operations and strategy, while reporting through Gemaire's shared services finance function to ensure alignment with corporate financial standards and systems. The role bridges financial rigor with operational insights, moving beyond traditional accounting to drive strategic decision-making through analytics and financial storytelling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Close & Reporting (30%)
  • Lead monthly close process for Boreal, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
  • Manage journal entries and reconciliations in OneStream consolidation platform
  • Work with Gemaire Controller and Boreal finance contacts to meet reporting deadlines
  • Compile and present monthly P&L, balance sheet, and supporting schedules

Business Analytics & Insights (60%)
  • Develop margin analysis by product line, geography, and customer segment
  • Monitor inventory trends and turnover metrics; identify optimization opportunities
  • Conduct variance analysis on forecasts vs. actuals; recommend operational actions
  • Create ad-hoc financial models to support Boreal management decisions
  • Build dashboards and reporting tools as Gemaire's budget/forecast modules mature

Strategic Support (10%)
  • Collaborate with Gemaire finance team on CPM platform enhancements
  • Adapt budget and forecasting tools for Boreal's specific business model
  • Participate in planning and forecasting cycles

Qualifications:
