Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting financial reporting, budget development, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system initiatives for the Seminole Tribe of Florida Inc.'s Finance Department. The individual examines budget estimates; plans and performs economic and/or financial analysis and analyzes budgeting and accounting reports for the purpose of maintaining expenditure controls. The individual assists with complex accounting, grant reporting, debt compliance, reconciliations, internal audit and cash management functions. The individual plays a key role in enhancing financial accuracy, improving budgeting processes, and contributing to the implementation and optimization of the ERP system. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similarly related field is required. Master's degree in Business Administration and /or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or financial reporting or working in local government financial analysis, budget, accounting or related field is required. Prior knowledge of finance, budget and accounting methods, practices and procedures is required; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Familiarity with GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred. Knowledge of Oracle Fusion, Lawson/Infor, and/or other accounting/budget systems and cloud applications is also preferred. Experience supporting or participating in ERP system implementations or upgrades. Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Business Intelligence (BI) tools and other financial modeling/reporting tools. Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
