TELUS Finance Capital & Asset Management is a dedicated and collaborative team that supports TELUS Corporate reporting and the overall Capital Project and Asset Systems, by delivering value-added reporting to internal stakeholders, and monitoring capital spend to enable executive decisions on capital investment targets.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a trusted financial advisor and business partner to several key TELUS stakeholders groups. You will serve as the Corporate retirement prime for financial asset records, driving deep-dive retirement analysis and leading the development or modernization of asset retirement policies.You will translate financial data into value added reporting and insightful analysis that ultimately helps drive decision making. Using your creative approach, you will help to simplify and improve our processes. If you are a self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment, loves to solve complex problems, and excels at building relationships, this is the role for you!

What you'll do

  • Oversee large-scale monthly, quarterly, and annual financial asset retirement processes across multiple business areas. 

  • Prepare comprehensive year-over-year asset retirement analysis and commentary, and update quarterly Audit Committee presentation decks while addressing internal/external auditor requests

  • Develop, implement or enhance asset retirement processes

  • Prepare Balance Sheet and other reconciliations along with supporting analysis

  • Complete regular and ad-hoc monthly accounting entries

  • Support the clean-up of master data in the Asset Systems, including reconciliations and retirements, in preparation for migration to a new ERP system

  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements through simplification and automation, to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness

  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting, system, and project requests as required

Qualifications

What you bring

  • 5+ years' progressive finance experience supporting large business groups and senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

  • 2+ years' experience post CPA designation

  • IFRS expertise with strong command of accounting practices, policies, and professional ethics

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to influence strategic decisions

  • Results-driven, ownership-focused cross-functional collaborator

  • Excellent communicator at all levels; skilled managing multiple priorities in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • Advanced Excel and G-Suite proficiency; experience with AI tools and automation for process improvement

Great-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of SAP
