Job description

Red Hat will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position. Therefore, in order to be considered for this position, you must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Job summary

Red Hat is looking for a Senior FinOps Data Analyst to join us in Raleigh. The Senior FinOps Data Analyst sits at the intersection of Cloud Infrastructure, Corporate Finance, and AI Engineering. This is not an administrative or passive reporting role; it requires an AI thought-first mindset and a deep curiosity for building internal tools that eliminate manual friction. Rather than relying on a single legacy platform, this analyst treats FinOps as a dynamic, multi-tool environment—leveraging raw operational datasets to power AI agents, predict cloud economics, and steer the enterprise's hybrid cloud strategy.

What you will do:
  • AI & GPU Infrastructure Modeling: Track, evaluate, and forecast cross-environment financial trends driven specifically by AI platform adoptions, machine learning workloads, and enterprise GPU utilization.
  • Dataverse Pipeline Integration: Act as the core architect for cloud and data center data collection, building reliable ingestion loops that funnel technical usage data directly into Dataverse.
  • Dynamic PO Lifecycle Management: Reform the purchase order framework from an annual forecast model to an active, twice-a-year allocation refresh cycle that keeps pace with AI investment spikes.
  • Cross-Functional Bridge Building: Partner directly with workstream service owners and IT engineering teams to translate raw system metrics into shared financial strategies, preventing data misinterpretation.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, data analysis, IT finance, or a related technology operations role
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large operational datasets using SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Working knowledge of public cloud billing, cost allocation, and optimization concepts across at least one major provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience translating technical usage and spend data into clear reports, forecasts, or recommendations for engineering and leadership stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building automations, internal tools, or data pipelines — including use of AI-assisted development tools ("e.g., Cursor, LLM APIs")
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Dataverse, or similar warehouse/lake environments)
  • Experience modeling OpEx and CapEx together for hybrid cloud or infrastructure planning
  • Exposure to AI/GPU workload cost forecasting or high-growth technology spend environments
  • Experience partnering with shared services, procurement, or finance teams on invoice validation, chargeback, or PO lifecycle management
Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $88,510.00 - $141,630.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
