How much do finance rotational development program jobs pay per year?
What is a Finance Rotational Development Program job?
A Finance Rotational Development Program (FRDP) is an early-career program designed to develop future finance leaders by providing hands-on experience across multiple finance functions. Participants rotate through different roles such as financial planning & analysis, treasury, accounting, and corporate finance over a set period, typically 2-3 years. This structured program offers mentorship, networking opportunities, and exposure to senior leadership. It helps build a strong foundation in finance while allowing participants to explore different areas before settling into a permanent role.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Finance Rotational Development Program position, and why are they important?
To thrive in a Finance Rotational Development Program, you need strong analytical abilities, a solid understanding of financial concepts, and a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. Familiarity with Excel, financial modeling software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is commonly required, and relevant internships or certifications such as CPA or CFA can be advantageous. Excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills help set candidates apart, as the program involves collaborating with various departments. These qualifications are crucial because participants rotate through multiple finance functions, requiring both technical and interpersonal strengths to succeed and adapt quickly.
What are the typical rotations or departments included in a Finance Rotational Development Program?
Finance Rotational Development Programs usually provide exposure to several core finance functions such as corporate finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, treasury, internal audit, and occasionally roles in investor relations or commercial finance. During each rotation, you’ll work on real business projects, learn department-specific processes, and gain hands-on experience from cross-functional teams. This structure is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the company’s financial operations and help you identify your strengths and interests. The varied rotations help prepare you for future leadership roles or specialized positions within the finance organization.

Job description
Are you looking to open the doors to a dynamic career combining strategic thinking, hands-on experience, and leadership development? At ASSA ABLOY, our operations professionals continually push the boundaries of what is possible - how can we drive efficiency? optimize processes? make a tangible impact? Put simply: they challenge the status quo to improve our business daily.
Our Rotational Development Program (RDP) is a two-year journey (24 months) designed to immerse you in the core of our Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain organizations. Through multiple assignments across various facilities within the Commercial Segment of the Americas Division, you'll gain broad exposure to our business, work alongside experienced professionals, and accelerate your career.
Three Focus Areas
As a member of the RDP, you will have an opportunity to experience all facets of our business. Our goal is to expose you to the breadth of ASSA ABLOY products, processes, and team members that make our business so successful. The RDP is built around three, core areas:
Engineering
Work directly with our engineering teams to support product development, process improvement, and technical problem-solving. You'll gain hands-on experience with manufacturing technologies, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive innovation and performance.
Operational Excellence
Experience the full scope of our production environments. Collaborate with manufacturing teams, plant leadership, and operational excellence experts to ensure our products are built and delivered to the highest standards. You'll apply LEAN principles, support Six Sigma projects, and contribute to strategic initiatives like facility planning and site optimization.
Supply Chain
During this rotation, you will work with our Global Supply Chain team. You will have the opportunity to enhance your logistics, planning, and purchasing skills while optimizing how our supply chain services our production, and warehousing, facilities. In today's globalized marketplace, our supply chain professionals are experts at ensuring a steady flow of materials while optimizing our cost structure.
You won't just get a job here. You'll join a global team.
Your rotation will expose you to nearly 175+ brands, in 70 countries, across countless different roles. Within the Americas Division, there are nearly 16,500 team members collaborating with almost 6,000 professionals within the ASSA ABLOY Global Team. This distinction sets us apart as the world leader in access solutions.
About you
To be a competitive candidate, you will need to be an intellectually curious team player, ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. We expect you to have an Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations-related degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Completing prior, degree-specific internships is desirable. You should have a strong track record of involvement and engagement with on/off campus activities. You must have excellent communication skills, a self-starter, motivated, and driven to seek out challenges and find solutions. As a member of the RDP, you will have an opportunity to see and work at many of our manufacturing locations. You must be willing to relocate to each rotation site as well as be prepared to travel for potential trips.
Rotation locations include but are not limited to:
Berlin, Connecticut
Mason City, Iowa
Memphis, Tennessee
Milan, Tennessee
Monroe, North Carolina
Monroe, Lousiana
Las Vegas, Nevada
Sacramento, California
Montgomery, Alabama
New Haven, Connecticut

We are the ASSA ABLOY Group
Our people have made us the global leader in access solutions. In return, we open doors for them wherever they go. With nearly 63,000 colleagues in more than 70 different countries, we help billions of people experience a more open world. Our innovations make all sorts of spaces - physical and virtual - safer, more secure, and easier to access.
As an employer, we value results - not titles, or backgrounds. We empower our people to build their career around their aspirations and our ambitions - supporting them with regular feedback, training, and development opportunities. Our colleagues think broadly about where they can make the most impact, and we encourage them to grow their role locally, regionally, or even internationally.
As we welcome new people on board, it's important to us to have diverse, inclusive teams, and we value different perspectives and experiences.
