Job description

Description
Build More Than Projects. Build a Legacy.
Most Project Managers manage schedules.
The best Project Managers build trust, solve problems before they happen, lead teams through complexity, and deliver projects that leave a lasting impact on communities.
At Alpha Inc., we're looking for one of those leaders.
This isn't a role for someone who simply pushes paperwork, forwards emails, and updates spreadsheets. This is for a construction professional who thrives in the field, owns outcomes, and takes pride in delivering exceptional projects from groundbreaking through closeout.
If you're the type of person who sees challenges as opportunities, values accountability over excuses, and knows that great projects are built by great teams, keep reading.
About Alpha Inc.
Alpha Inc. is a locally owned Hawai?i company delivering excellence across construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, concrete, drilling, and specialty services. Every project we undertake is an opportunity to strengthen our communities, elevate our people, and leave Hawai?i better than we found it.
We don't just talk about culture-we live it.
Our Core Values
Lead with Heart
We lead with humility, compassion, respect, and genuine care for our people, clients, and communities.
Strength in Unity
We believe collaboration wins. We break down silos, support one another, and accomplish more together than we ever could alone.
Alpha Mentality
We embrace accountability, continuous improvement, grit, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
As Project Manager, you'll play a critical role in bringing these values to life on every project, every meeting, and every jobsite.
The Opportunity
As Project Manager - Alpha Vertical, you'll lead commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and vertical construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule, and to Alpha's standards of excellence.
You'll serve as the central hub connecting clients, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, project engineers, and field operations while maintaining a relentless focus on quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
This role requires equal parts builder, strategist, communicator, and leader.
What You'll Own
Lead Projects from Start to Finish
  • Manage vertical construction projects through pre-construction, execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Drive project success by maintaining alignment between scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Anticipate obstacles before they become problems and proactively implement solutions.
Own Financial Performance
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and resource plans.
  • Monitor project profitability and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maximize project outcomes while maintaining client trust.
Coordinate the Entire Project Ecosystem
  • Partner with architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Ensure project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract administration are handled accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive Execution in the Field
  • Conduct regular site visits and progress reviews.
  • Ensure work is executed according to plans, specifications, safety standards, and Alpha quality expectations.
  • Partner closely with field leadership to remove roadblocks and maintain momentum.
Build Exceptional Client Relationships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Foster transparency, responsiveness, and confidence throughout every phase of the project.
  • Create clients who become long-term partners.
Develop Future Leaders
  • Mentor Project Engineers and field personnel.
  • Promote accountability, professional growth, and continuous learning.
  • Help strengthen Alpha's next generation of construction leaders.
Champion Alpha's Culture
You will embody and reinforce:
  • Lead with Heart by building strong relationships and leading with empathy.
  • Strength in Unity through collaboration and teamwork across departments.
  • Alpha Mentality by owning results, solving problems, and continuously improving.
What You Bring
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive success in vertical construction project management.
  • Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, multifamily, mixed-use, or similar vertical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, cost controls, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project leadership experience.
  • Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery methods, risk management, and value engineering.
Leadership Traits
The ideal candidate is:
  • A problem solver, not a problem reporter.
  • Calm under pressure and decisive when it matters.
  • Highly organized without becoming rigid.
  • Relationship-driven while maintaining accountability.
  • Comfortable in the boardroom, conference room, and jobsite trailer.
  • Motivated by results, team success, and continuous improvement.
Why Alpha?
You'll join a company where:
  • Culture matters as much as performance.
  • Leaders are accessible and invested in your growth.
  • High performers are recognized and rewarded.
  • Projects have a lasting impact on Hawai?i's future.
  • Teams support one another and win together.
  • Excellence is expected-but never at the expense of integrity.

This is an opportunity to help shape some of Hawai?i's most meaningful construction projects while building a career with a company that's growing, evolving, and investing in its people.
