Description

As a key member of the Corporate Finance team, the Finance IT Specialist will retrieve data sets and build reports from numerous software systems to assist in month end close, reviewing results, and ensuring data is being properly transmitted between systems. This role will assist Corporate Finance, Divisional Finance, Operations, IT, and other departments. This position will also be a key resource in the completion of special projects such as software integrations and company acquisitions.

  • This position is based at the Corporate St. Louis, MO office.
  • This is a hybrid position (not a remote position). No relocation.
  • Hours 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Extended hours may be required for month-end including weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the initiatives of the Corporate Finance group including extraction of data, building of ad hoc reporting, and participation in other analysis. Interact with team members at many levels of the organization to obtain an understanding of how day-to-day processes work so that correct data can be found. Provide assistance & support in explaining report logic and how data was compiled.
  • Navigate between multiple financial systems to data mine and extract information needed for period close, audit, or special projects when requested. Provide support and explanation for any data provided.
  • Serve as a first line of investigation for data discrepancies between financial systems, identifying root cause issues related to mappings, integrations, timing, or upstream source data before escalating to IT or external consultants.
  • Utilize SQL or similar query tools to validate, reconcile, and analyze financial data directly from source systems or data repositories when needed.
  • Act as a system administrator or power user for select financial applications, including user access management, role/security maintenance, and basic configuration support.
  • Monthly and semi-annual close and reporting of financial results as needed.
  • Implementation of new software and new company acquisitions.
  • Accumulation, review and submission of information requested by internal and external auditors.
  • Complete special projects and non-routine assignments as may be required by management.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, Business or Information Systems required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in IT required.
  • Prior experience in accounting, finance, auditing preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work at both the detailed analytical level and at the summary level, with speed and accuracy.
  • Must possess strong and effective interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial datasets.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, AS400 ERP system, PowerBI, TM1, Blackline, Showcase Query desired.
  • Exposure to modern data environments such as data warehouses or lakehouse architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), including experience with APIs or automated data feeds, is a plus.
