Job description

Job Title: Operations Assistant
Pay range: $18-$24 per hour (based on experience)
Basic Function:
Reviews and processes a variety of customer transactions including returns, stop payments, electronic transfers, and wire transfers. Ensures general ledger, customer accounts, and proofs of deposits accurately reconcile. Processes and researches customer requests.
Position Qualifications:
Education and Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • One to three years experience as operations assistant or equivalent position
Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Intermediate knowledge of banking laws and regulations
  • Intermediate knowledge of industry specific software
Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and resolve without conflict
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve independently
  • Efficiently process and complete data entry of confidential information
Essential duties:
  • Distributes daily reports to various bank personnel
  • Reviews and processes exception items (returns, stop payment, large money and miscoded transactions) to ensure accurate customer accounts
  • Processes electronic transactions (ACH, cash letters, scanned business deposits, wire transfers)
  • Scans proofs of deposits to data center
  • Monitors federal reserve account and due from bank accounts to determine appropriate borrowing or selling
  • Verifies customer accounts are accurate to avoid negative impact on bank
  • Documents and returns all customer queries for personal requests
  • Processes customer requests for ATM/Debit cards, and wire transfers
  • Print and distributes ACH, CD advice of credit, and home equity notices
  • Prints and forwards statements to customers
  • Processes deposit maintenance requests
  • Reconciles various deposit and general ledger accounts
  • Enters and processes accounts payable
  • Provides additional support to Vice President Finance, Operations and IT as required
