About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Manager, Finance will support a one-year project focused on BEPโ€™s parent company conversion from IFRS to US GAAP. The role will work closely with Finance, regional teams, and the FinApp team to support data readiness, reporting design, system testing, and preparation of comparative financial information.

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Support BEPโ€™s parent company IFRS to US GAAP conversion, including workstreams related to data readiness, reporting, testing, and comparative financial analysis;
  • Coordinate with corporate and regional finance teams to gather, validate, cleanse, and upload financial data in line with project timelines and quality standards;
  • Define reporting requirements and support development, testing, validation, and issue resolution for new or revised management and financial reports;
  • Prepare comparative pro forma financial information and supporting analysis to bridge IFRS results to US GAAP reporting requirements;
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including process notes, validation support, testing evidence, issue logs, and reporting requirements to support SOX, internal audit, and external audit needs;
  • Support the first two quarters close under US GAAP, including troubleshooting issues and building additional reports and validations as needed;
  • Provide regular status updates, escalate risks or data issues, collaborate with key stakeholders, and perform other project-related analysis as required.ย 

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Professional accounting designation and membership in good standing with a recognized professional body;
  • Minimum eight years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, consolidation, reporting, or finance transformation;
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, with experience in accounting policy, reporting, or conversion initiatives considered an asset;
  • Experience with financial data validation, cleansing, reconciliations, reporting requirements, report testing, and issue resolution;
  • Strong financial systems skills, including advanced Excel; experience with consolidation or reporting platforms such as OneStream, Cognos Controller, Hyperion Financial Management, or similar systems considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and review skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across regional finance teams, corporate functions, technology stakeholders, and project English is essential; French is considered an asset.
