The College of Business at Valparaiso University invites applications for the position of Lecturer of Finance (https://www.valpo.edu/college-of-business/). Valparaiso University ("Valpo"), a community of learners rooted in the Lutheran tradition of scholarship, freedom, and faith, prepares students to lead and serve both church and society. Located an hour southeast of Chicago on a 310-acre campus, Valpo is a comprehensive liberal arts university with around 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Valpo is consistently recognized as one of the top private universities in the Midwest and is situated in Valparaiso, Indiana, a county seat with over 30,000 residents, offering high-quality schools, restaurants, and an active social scene.

It is situated 50 miles from downtown Chicago and only 14 miles from the beautiful Indiana Dunes National Park. Valparaiso is home to 13 city parks, over 20 miles of bike trails, and award-winning downtown gathering spaces that house year-round community events, including the Popcorn Festival, music concerts, ice skating, farmer's markets, and more. The city was built to support neighborhood activities, with most neighborhoods being within walking distance of parks, schools, and communal spaces. Qualifications
Applicants should possess a master's degree in business (e.g., MBA or MS in Finance). The primary teaching focus is our junior-level, required financial management course. Candidates will also have the opportunity to teach other investment courses, including our student-managed investment fund (SMIF) course, in which our students manage over $1 million in real assets. This lecturer position is full-time and involves teaching eight courses per year. Prior teaching experience that demonstrates effectiveness in both in-person and online settings is highly preferred. Candidates holding graduate degrees in related fields and relevant teaching experience may also be considered. This position is scheduled to start in August 2026.
