Job description

Leadership Development Program (LDP) Colleague

Training Location: Irving, Texas Department: Rotational program with a strong focus on operations Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Program Duration: 12 to 18 months (1 year to 1.5 years) with potential full-time placement following completion of the program

Compensation & Benefits This is a salaried position with bonus eligibility. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off (PTO).

Position Summary

The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is designed to prepare high-potential candidates for future leadership roles within Om Produce. This structured program provides hands-on experience across key operational and business functions, including warehouse operations, transportation, safety compliance, sales, procurement, and leadership.

The program emphasizes accountability, operational excellence, and leadership readiness to support company growth, expansion, and potential acquisitions. LDP participants will gain cross-functional exposure to understand the full scope of operations required to successfully manage a distribution facility or support new business locations.

When you complete the program, we'll place you where the business needs you most. That could mean supporting warehouse operations at our Irving facility, stepping in as a transportation supervisor at a newly acquired location, or helping us professionalize a smaller operation we've brought into the Om family. The role, function, and location will depend on where you're needed โ€” and we're upfront about that. The right person for this program is someone who sees that as an opportunity, not a drawback.

Training & Rotation Areas

Participants in the Leadership Development Program will complete their initial training and development at the companyโ€™s primary operations facility in Irving, Texas, before being considered for placement or relocation opportunities based on business needs. Rotations are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the companyโ€™s operations and leadership expectations. The program will include exposure to the following functional areas:

โ€ข Warehouse Operations โ€“ Get into the flow of daily operations โ€” receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and outbound shipping. Learn how to manage throughput, hold quality standards, and keep a floor running efficiently. Support cycle counts, operational audits, and shrink control. Get hands-on with our ERP/WMS systems and learn how inventory data drives operational decisions.

โ€ข Transportation & Fleet Operations โ€“ Work alongside dispatch, learn routing and delivery scheduling, and get exposure to DOT/FMCSA compliance. Understand what it takes to keep a fleet moving safely and on time.

โ€ข Food Safety & Compliance โ€“ Participate in safety inspections, incident reviews, and corrective action processes. Build a working knowledge of OSHA standards, food safety requirements, and the compliance fundamentals every operations leader needs.

โ€ข Procurement & Vendor Management โ€“ Learn how we source product, manage supplier relationships, and make pricing decisions in a volatile commodity market. In produce, how you buy on any given day has a direct impact on margins and customer commitments.

โ€ข Outside Sales & Customer Service โ€“ Work directly with the customer-facing side of the business โ€” understand how orders are taken, how customer relationships are managed, and what happens when something goes wrong. Learn how sales commitments translate into operational execution and what it takes to deliver on time consistently.

โ€ข Leadership Development โ€“ Work alongside frontline supervisors and managers to understand what day-to-day leadership actually looks like in a distribution environment. Participate in team huddles, assist with onboarding and performance coaching, and develop your leadership skills through structured training & coaching

โ€ข Human Resources โ€” Learn the basics of employee relations, staffing, and performance management. Understand how HR and operations work together, especially in a fast-growth environment where culture and accountability matter.

โ€ข Finance โ€” Get exposure to budgeting, cost control, and operational expense management. Learn to read the numbers behind the operation and understand how daily decisions affect the bottom line and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications Required

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred, but equivalent hands-on leadership experience will be considered

โ€ข 3 or more years of experience in operations, logistics, warehouse, sales, procurement, or a related field โ€” or a track record of early leadership in a fast-paced environment

โ€ข Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required; experience working alongside a bilingual or Spanish-speaking workforce is a plus

โ€ข Demonstrated leadership potential, strong problem-solving ability, and intellectual curiosity

โ€ข Excellent work ethic and communication & organizational skills

โ€ข Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require

โ€ข Genuine willingness and ability to relocate based on business needs, including supporting operations at current locations, new facilities, or future acquisitions in other states

Mobility & Relocation Requirement

Participation in the Leadership Development Program requires geographic mobility. All initial training will take place in Irving, Texas. Upon successful completion of training phases, candidates must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to relocate based on business needs. This may include remaining at the Irving location or relocating to support operations in other states, new facilities, or newly acquired businesses. Relocation assignments may be temporary or permanent and are considered an essential component of leadership development and advancement within the program.

Performance Expectations

Throughout the 12โ€“18-month program, LDP Colleagues are expected to:

โ€ข Demonstrate increasing responsibility and leadership capability

โ€ข Meet performance and development milestones established by leadership

โ€ข Successfully complete assigned operational rotations

โ€ข Maintain strong safety, compliance, and operational standards

โ€ข Exhibit readiness for supervisory or management-level responsibilities

Career Path After Program Completion

Successful completion of the Leadership Development Program may lead to placement into leadership roles such as:

โ€ข Operations Supervisor/Manager

โ€ข Transportation Supervisor

โ€ข Warehouse Supervisor

โ€ข Food Safety & QA Supervisor

โ€ข Temporary advisory role to help integrate & stand-up new locations โ€œthe Om wayโ€

Placement decisions will be based on business needs, your performance throughout the program, and where your strengths are the best fit. We can't guarantee a specific title, location, or function โ€” but we can tell you that if you perform, there will be a place for you in this company's next chapter!
