Job description

Internship is for 3-4 months and 20-30 hour per week, with 2 days in office (Preferably Mon/Tues)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for learning.The Finance Intern will report to the Associate Director, Internal Control (ADIC), who reports to the Sr Director, Accounting. They will work cross-departmentally to undertake various accounting functions and projects, including AP, external audit support, etc.

This internship is open to students actively in school and will be a part-time opportunity for accounting students to get on-hands experience to supplement their education.

Primary Duties:

  1. Assist with daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, account/vendor reconciliations, and journal entries.
  2. Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes processes, as needed.
  3. Assist with data preparation for external and internal audits.
  4. Learn and apply accounting principles and standards.
  5. Support other Accounting/Finance team members as needed.
  6. Other projects as assigned by the ADIC

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in an Accounting, Business, or Finance Undergraduate degree program as a Junior or Senior with excel experience
    • OR enrolled in a Masters program in Accounting, Business or Finance with excel experience
  • Experience in accounting or finance preferred.

This is a hybrid internship that requires candidates to be located in Utah and to be able to commute at least 50% of the time to the office in Salt Lake City, Utah. The first 2 to 4 weeks will be primarily in-office for training.

The estimated wage range for this role based in Utah is between $18.00 - $22.00. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
