Finance Associate (2+ Years) – Growth Debt / Private Credit

Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a mid-level Finance Associate to join its market-leading Banking & Private Credit practice, with a focus on growth debt. This is a high-impact opportunity to work on cutting-edge financings for innovative companies in the technology and life sciences sectors.

The team is at the forefront of both syndicated lending and private credit markets, advising top-tier lenders, funds, and borrowers on complex, high-value transactions. You’ll gain exposure to sophisticated deal structures and play a key role in fast-moving, strategic financings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Advise lenders and borrowers on growth debt and venture-backed financings
  • Draft and negotiate credit agreements and related loan documentation
  • Work on secured and unsecured lending transactions, including UCC matters
  • Support leveraged finance and private credit deals across a range of industries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex, high-value transactions

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of debt finance experience at a top law firm
  • Experience with secured and unsecured lending and UCC transactions
  • Exposure to leveraged finance and/or private credit preferred
  • Interest in technology and life sciences sectors
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • J.D. with strong academic credentials and admission to a U.S. Bar (or eligibility)
