Successful Candidate will work Mon - Fri, Sat as needed and will start at 5a/6a. Must be flexible to cover 2nd Shift as needed.
Pay is: $85,000 + DOE
I. Job Summary
The Manager, Operations is responsible for leading and managing day-to-day operations of a facility or multiple operational units, including material processing, transportation, and field services. This role oversees personnel, equipment, and processes to ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective operations while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction. The position drives operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, financial oversight, and strong leadership across diverse teams.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide leadership for all supervisors and direct reporting employees.
  • Manage and attend all Health and Safety meetings and train employees on any safety issues.
  • Oversee the daily collections for accuracy and profitability and direct dispatch if necessary.
  • Prepare the daily schedule of operations on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
  • Manage customer complaints and concerns.
  • Develop budgets for upcoming year and review monthly to ensure company is on track for yearly goals.
  • Manage any HR concerns with staff on Hiring, discipline, vacations and WSIB.
  • Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance appraisals.
  • Monitors operations and staff and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources. Develop new company policies and provide training as needed.
  • Monitors and ensures that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries.
  • Oversee that all employees are adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee building and grounds maintenance for Operations.
  • Other duties as directed or required.
  • Monitors department work productivity, reports on trends, recommends, and implements changes to continually improve work productivity.
  • Ensures that entire plant is within regulatory compliance, including transfer stations, trucking domiciles, office and support facilities within the plant operation. Reviews all applicable regulatory paperwork.
  • Ensures continual improvement of productivity standards and worker safety performance in all phases of the operation.
  • Pro-actively interfaces with area peers to achieve business goals.
  • Initiates actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices. Trains production and maintenance employees, when necessary.
  • Ensures adequate level of supplies and equipment and purchases supplies and equipment, when needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.

III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in related work experience
  • 3 years of previous management experience in a structured environment, overseeing multi-location teams.

B. Preferred Qualifications
  • (CDL)-Class B
  • (CDL)-Class A

☒ Combination: This job operates in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.
This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols. As part of the ongoing employment requirements, the successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing-including pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing-in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
