  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, compliance protocols, and audit readiness (GAAP, SOX-lite if applicable)
  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting team; optimize workflows and reporting tools
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within oil & gas
  • Strong understanding of upstream accounting practices (e.g., DD&A, LOE, revenue allocation)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and scale processes in mid-market environments
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus
  • High integrity, analytical rigor, and executive presence

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to private equity-backed or family-owned business structures
  • Familiarity with land, lease, and production accounting workflows
  • Ability to model cash flow scenarios and support capital planning
