Job description

Plater / Chemical Processing Technician
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Plater/ Chemical Processing Technician for a company based in Clearwater, FL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to advance your career while being a key part of a dynamic team in a fast-growing aerospace and defense metal finishing manufacturer.

Pay Rate 
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule and Hours 
Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 3:00 pm

Plater/ Chemical Processing Technician Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform chromate conversion coating (Alodine/Chem Film) processes on aluminum and other metal components.
  • Process parts through plating lines, including nickel, zinc, tin, and cadmium.
  • Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, etching, rinsing, masking, and pre-treatment procedures. 
  • Monitor chemical baths and process parameters including temperature, concentration, pH levels, and immersion times. 
  • Follow detailed work instructions, military specifications, and customer requirements. 
  • Load and unload parts on racks and fixtures for chemical processing operations. 
  • Conduct visual inspections to verify coating quality and conformance to specifications.
Plater/ Chemical Processing Technician Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in metal finishing, plating, anodizing, passivation, or chemical processing. 
  • Direct experience with chromate conversion coatings (Chem Film/Alodine).
  • Understanding of metal preparation and surface treatment techniques. 
  • Knowledge of NADCAP or AS9100 quality environments. 
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions and specifications. 
  • Basic math and measurement skills. 
  • Ability to work with chemical solutions and wear required PPE. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
