What are Internship Film Processing jobs?

Internship Film Processing jobs are entry-level roles that provide hands-on experience in developing, scanning, and editing photographic or motion picture film. Interns typically assist in preparing film for processing, operating processing equipment, and maintaining lab cleanliness. These positions are ideal for students or recent graduates looking to learn about film production workflows and gain industry skills. Interns may also help with quality control and digital archiving of film materials. Such internships are commonly offered by photo labs, production studios, and media companies.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect during a Film Processing Internship?

As a Film Processing Intern, you can expect to assist with various stages of film development, including loading film reels, operating processing machines, and performing quality checks on negatives and prints. You may also help with digitizing film and maintaining accurate records of processed materials. Collaboration with lab technicians and supervisors is common, providing valuable learning opportunities and exposure to industry-standard equipment and workflows. This hands-on experience is designed to build foundational skills and prepare you for more advanced roles in film production or post-production.

Familiarity with darkroom equipment, film scanners, and editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom is typically required.
