Our client is seeking a hands-on and forward-thinking Finance & Accounting Manager to lead and scale financial operations within a growing organization near Latham, NY. This is a high-impact opportunity for an accounting and finance professional who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and partnering closely with leadership to support long-term growth.
The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, operational finance experience, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across accounting, payroll, compliance, and financial planning in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Finance & Accounting Manager will include:
  • Manage core accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and corporate card administration
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, loans, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Deliver timely financial reporting and provide insights to leadership teams
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and workflow efficiencies
  • Partner with executive leadership and department managers on financial matters and strategic decisions
  • Communicate financial trends, risks, and opportunities proactively to leadership
  • Manage payroll operations, tax reporting, and related accounting activities
  • Coordinate employee benefits administration, open enrollment, and retirement plan processes
  • Maintain relationships with payroll vendors, benefits brokers, retirement administrators, and outside accounting partners
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of payroll, sales/use, and business taxes
  • Coordinate audits, insurance reporting, workers' compensation reporting, and compliance activities
  • Prepare required federal, state, and local filings, including 1099 reporting

Qualifications for the role of Finance & Accounting Manager:
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or business operations experience
  • Experience working in a small or growing business environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience overseeing payroll, benefits administration, retirement plans, and compliance activities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll systems
  • Experience coordinating with external vendors, CPAs, and service providers
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing priorities independently
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:
