Job description

AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. In this position you will be  filing rate, rule and form fillings as required by: preparing data, working with actuary, submitting and responding to any inquiries/objections from insurance departments regarding product filings. Compilation and maintenance of all correct filing forms required for the respective state in which filings are made and data that is needed to complete rate, rule and form filings. Ensure the quality of rates imported into systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Serve as a role model for diversity and inclusion, supporting the AMERISAFE pillars.
*Responsible for policy form and rate filing process, including, but not limited to, filing preparation and submission, coordinating with actuary, obtaining state approval, maintenance of filing records, form and rate tracking and reporting, timely communication of filing status and approvals to all operational areas, and performing such filing process in an accurate and timely fashion so that corporate, as well as departmental, goals and deadlines are met. Rate/rule filings are filed upon approval from the underwriting committee. 
*Read, review, and digest industry publications. This includes research and review of state and federal insurance laws and various regulatory publications and responding to updates and changes. 
*Compilation and assimilation of data needed to complete rate and form filings. 
*Provide detailed data to the actuary and/or state Departments of Insurance as needed for support/justification of rate filings.  
*Correspondence with actuaries and other professionals whose services are required for the completion of a rate filing. 
*Consult within RIS on rate changes and filing requirements. 
*Compilation and maintenance of all correct filing forms required by the respective states in which filings are needed. 
*Assist in rate set comparison and testing upon final approval.
*Import and test rate data in ICAMS.
*Research, trouble-shoot, report, and test Work item’s in a testing database and provide feedback to IT for upload into production of Work item’s that pass testing.
*Class code changes (additions or deletions) as required by states, NCCI, Rating Bureaus, etc.
*Log information in ImageRight and/or attach process information to appropriate Work item.
*Assist with calculations of workers’ compensation estimated annual premium, reporting rates, schedule rating, upset values, short-rate penalties, and prorating.
*Assist with confirming valid zip codes and entering in the zip code table in ICAMS production.
*Cultivate and maintain contacts with State Insurance Departments’ staff.
*Identify and communicate regulatory issues to management as necessary.
*Input of filed and approved data into ICAMS; review for accuracy.
*Trouble-shoot issues as notified by other departments.
*Maintain and update surcharges and assessments as needed.
*Set up new/revised descriptions, rules, and class codes in rating system and test outcomes.
*Coordinate calculation corrections between the departments (including those beyond the scope of maintaining the loss costs and rates in ICAMS).
*Assist with regulatory exam issues and internal audits dealing with filings.

Qualifications:

*Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Crystal Reports, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
*Detail oriented, analytical, accurate, and organized.
*Excellent math aptitude.
*Excellent time management skills.
*Professional written and oral communication skills.
