Job description

Kodiak Sciences is a fast-growing clinical-stage biotechnology company with a singular focus in ophthalmology. Our unique Antibody Biopolymer Conjugate (ABC) platform merges the fields of protein engineering and polymer chemistry and is at the core of our discovery engine.
We are looking for a highly motivated, independent, and skilled Research Associate to join the Quality Operations team at Kodiak Sciences to work on antibody purification, characterization, formulation, and conjugation. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform various analytical assays for antibody characterization, including SDS-PAGE, HPLCs, SEC/MALS, Spectrometry, and LAL endotoxin assay
  • Perform antibody purification with Protein A, ion exchange, size exclusion, and other types of chromatography
  • Perform antibody and biopolymer conjugation
  • Perform antibody and bioconjugate stability 
  • Prepare buffers and perform routine maintenance of various laboratory instruments
  • General laboratory duties, including maintaining consumable supplies, shipping and receiving
  • Maintain accurate LIMS data entry in a timely manner and the ability to keep well-organized experimental data

Education/Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biochemistry or a related field
  • +2 years of experience working with HPLC
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Focus, versatile, curious, energetic, and ability to multi-task is essential
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential
  • Knowledge/experience with FileMaker Pro, Empower, and ASTRA is a plus but not required
