Overview:

The Assistant CAD Systems Manager will support the Transportation team in the execution and advancement of CAD technology to improve production quality and efficiency. This role will assist in developing and implementing customized support, training, and software optimization strategies while actively promoting emerging technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist project teams in utilizing Bentley engineering software, supporting workflows from 3D modeling through design and production.
  • Contribute to the development of software templates and resource files aligned with client standards for efficient roadway, drainage, and utility design.
  • Provide technical support to project teams via online training, direct troubleshooting, and maintaining documentation of support solutions.
  • Support project setup and configuration to ensure efficient CAD workflows.
  • Test, refine, and document CAD-based workflows using the latest software and hardware technologies.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining CAD training materials, including manuals and instructional videos.
  • Troubleshoot design file, workspace, and file management issues.
  • Stay informed on emerging industry trends and technological advancements to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate and recommend software plugins and extensions to enhance program capabilities.
  • Assist in managing CAD software licensing, version upgrades, and deployment coordination with IT
  • Develop macros, scripts, or automation routines to reduce repetitive tasks

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering design production using Bentley software.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads (Connect Edition), ProjectWise, PowerGeopak.
  • Familiarity with ESRI, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoTurn, ConceptStation, LumenRT, OpenBridge, SignCAD, StormCAD, and SUDA preferred.
  • Familiar with GIS integration or point cloud/LiDAR data
  • Strong problem-solving skills and communication skills with the ability to provide technical support to project teams.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, with overtime as needed.
