Safety & Compliance ManagerAl Warren Oil CompanyLead Safety. Strengthen Compliance. Support Operations.

Al Warren Oil Company is seeking a technically driven and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Manager to support and strengthen transportation safety, regulatory compliance, and operational safety systems across our fuel, lubricant, and fleet operations.

This role is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment and has experience working with DOT compliance, driver qualification systems, ELD platforms, telematics, reporting, and transportation safety technology. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, proactive, and passionate about building a strong culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you will oversee transportation compliance activities, support safety initiatives, maintain audit-ready documentation, manage driver qualification and compliance systems, assist with incident investigations, and support operational teams through safety technology and reporting.

What You'll DoSupport Transportation Safety & Compliance Programs
  • Maintain and support company safety policies, compliance procedures, and transportation safety programs
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • FMCSA regulations
    • DOT requirements
    • OSHA standards
    • Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Regulations
    • DOT Drug and Alcohol Regulations
  • Help maintain audit-ready compliance documentation and records
  • Support company-wide safety initiatives focused on reducing risk and improving operational safety performance
  • Partner with operations, dispatch, maintenance, and leadership teams to support safe and compliant operations
Safety Systems & Technology
  • Manage and monitor ELD, telematics, and in-cab camera systems (Samsara, Netradyne, Motive, Geotab, or similar platforms)
  • Review safety events, driver scorecards, and compliance alerts
  • Generate safety, compliance, and operational performance reports
  • Support FMCSA Clearinghouse administration and monitoring
  • Maintain electronic driver qualification (DQ) files and compliance databases
  • Track CDL expirations, medical cards, HazMat endorsements, and annual driver requirements
  • Assist with troubleshooting and improving safety technology and compliance systems
  • Monitor CSA scores, violations, and fleet safety trends
Transportation Compliance Responsibilities
  • Assist with Hours-of-Service and ELD compliance management
  • Review driver logs and identify compliance issues
  • Support DOT audit preparation and compliance reviews
  • Maintain records related to:
    • Driver qualification files
    • CDL and medical card requirements
    • HazMat endorsements
    • Drug and alcohol testing programs
    • Annual driver reviews
    • FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements
  • Support fleet permit and registration tracking including IFTA and IRP requirements
  • Assist with transportation compliance reporting and documentation management
Incident Management & Reporting
  • Assist with investigating and documenting:
    • Vehicle accidents
    • Fuel spills
    • Workplace injuries
    • Customer incidents
    • Near misses
  • Support corrective action tracking and follow-up
  • Coordinate incident documentation with operations, insurance providers, and leadership teams
  • Maintain organized incident records and reporting files
Driver Onboarding & Training Support
  • Assist with driver onboarding compliance documentation and qualification requirements
  • Support orientation and ongoing safety training initiatives
  • Maintain training documentation and compliance records
  • Assist with:
    • HazMat training
    • Defensive driving programs
    • OSHA training requirements
    • Customer-specific site training
    • Quarterly safety meetings
    • Refresher and remedial training programs

Requirements

What We're Looking ForExperience
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation safety, DOT compliance, fleet operations, or logistics compliance preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • FMCSA regulations
    • Hours-of-Service compliance
    • ELD systems
    • Hazardous Materials transportation regulations
    • DOT Drug and Alcohol requirements
    • Driver qualification file management
    • Fleet safety and telematics systems
