College/Department Information
The Augusta University School of Public Health was established in 2023 to address Georgia's distinct public health challenges through exceptional education, innovative research, and collaborative community engagement. We are leveraging the strengths of Georgia's only public academic medical center, combining public health expertise with clinical knowledge to train future public health leaders. Our school is comprised of three academic departments: Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Data Science, Community & Behavioral Health Sciences, and Health Management, Economics & Policy. We offer a variety of degree programs, from specialized master's options to doctoral programs that create the next generation of public health researchers. Our research mission is critical to our long-term impact; we strongly emphasize scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, and grant-funded projects. Annually, we attract more than $6M in extramural funding.
Job Summary
This position will assist in administrative and technical work in two primary areas: (1) community engagement and workforce development activities and (2) support for ongoing funded faculty work and forecasted grant submissions. Experience with rural community-based organizations is particularly useful. Community engagement efforts will focus on the adaptation of a workforce development program previously developed in another state that will be implemented in the next year in the Augusta region and surrounding rural counties. Research expectations will include support for administrative documentation, including preparing Institutional Review Board documents and assisting the Principal Investigator with ongoing reporting requirements. For both activities, expertise in data collection, documentation, analysis, and adherence to further guidelines is critical. This position will likely involve travel around Augusta, the CSRA, and surrounding rural counties.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Scheduling
Schedule project visits. Timely follow-up with community partners. Data collection, entry, and quality control. Coordinate grant activities in the clinic or community. Maintain outstanding relationships with clinic or community partners. Attend meetings with clinic or community partners. Maintain project files.
Training
Attending staff training and project meetings. Participate in planning/development of protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principals.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study with a minimum of two years related experience
OR
Associates degree from an accredited college or university in related field of study with a minimum of five years related experience.

Master of Public Health from an accredited college or university.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position). This position will likely involve travel around Augusta, the CSRA, and surrounding rural counties.
Pay Band: 12
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
This position is fully funded through external sources. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds.
