Senior Director, Reimbursement
Role Summary
Howard University Hospital seeks a strategic and highly analytical Senior Director, Reimbursement to lead third-party reimbursement strategy, cost reporting, and regulatory compliance functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role maximizes reimbursement through oversight of Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, and managed care reporting, forecasting, audit management, and appeal strategy.
What You'll Do
  • Lead reimbursement strategy and cost reporting operations.
  • Oversee Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Cross cost report preparation and audit defense.
  • Develop reimbursement forecasting models.
  • Analyze third-party contracts and contractual allowances.
  • Lead appeals, settlements, and position paper development.
  • Supervise and develop reimbursement team.
  • Advise executive leadership on reimbursement risks.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Hospital Administration or related field.
  • 7+ years healthcare finance/accounting experience.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Extensive Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting experience.
