We are seeking a motivated and results-driven CRA Mortgage Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, realtors, and governmental agencies to create lending opportunities in line with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). You will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans to meet sales goals within the CRA assessment area, with a focus on low- and moderate-income borrowers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business through proactive outreach, including cultivating relationships with referral sources, realtors, and community organizations.
  • Sell and originate residential mortgage loans, explaining various mortgage products, and assisting customers in selecting the best options.
  • Work with community-based organizations to access down payment assistance programs for qualifying borrowers.
  • Achieve annual sales targets in alignment with the bank's business development goals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including underwriters and processors, to ensure a smooth mortgage application and closing process.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Stay current on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards, including CRA, HMDA, and Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
  • Actively participate in team efforts to cross-sell other bank products and services.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in mortgage loan origination and business development.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending products, processes, and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster relationships with clients, realtors, and community organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
