Lead a High-Quality Preschool Classroom

Kiddie Time Child Care Center is seeking a dedicated GSRP Lead Teacher to join our 5-Star Quality Rated program.

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education, believes children learn best through active learning and meaningful relationships, and is committed to growing as an early childhood professional. This is not simply a teaching position—it's an opportunity to become part of a collaborative team that prepares children for lifelong success.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or another degree that meets Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher qualifications.
  • OR be actively completing a Bachelor's degree that will qualify them as a Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher.
  • Meet all Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher requirements.
  • Successfully complete all required background checks.

We are seeking an educator who has intentionally chosen early childhood education as their career path and is committed to growing professionally within the preschool field.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • No evenings
  • No weekends

Applicants must also be available to work with our Before & After School Program during the summer months, school breaks, and other times when GSRP is not in session.

Our Teaching Philosophy

At Kiddie Time, we proudly implement the HighScope Curriculum.

We believe children learn best through active learning, intentional teaching, meaningful conversations, and strong relationships.

Our classrooms follow the HighScope daily routine, including:

  • Greeting Time
  • Planning
  • Work Time
  • Recall
  • Small Group
  • Large Group
  • Outdoor Learning

We're looking for a teacher who enjoys observing children, extending their thinking through purposeful interactions, and creating engaging learning experiences based on children's interests.

Teaching Team Expectations

Our GSRP classrooms are built around strong teaching partnerships.

As the Lead Teacher, you will work side-by-side with your Associate Teacher every day.

Together you will:

  • Plan engaging HighScope learning experiences.
  • Share classroom responsibilities.
  • Complete child observations, COR Advantage assessments, and required documentation.
  • Reflect together on children's progress and next learning steps.
  • Support children's development through intentional interactions.
  • Communicate openly and respectfully.
  • Problem-solve together.
  • Maintain consistency for children and families.

We believe the strongest classrooms are built by teachers who collaborate—not teachers who work independently.

We're Looking for Someone Who...

✔ Is passionate about preschool education and kindergarten readiness.

✔ Wants to build a long-term career in early childhood education.

✔ Values teamwork and enjoys collaborating with a co-teacher.

✔ Is excited to implement the HighScope Curriculum with fidelity.

✔ Creates engaging, play-based learning experiences.

✔ Builds meaningful relationships with children and families.

✔ Welcomes coaching, feedback, and continuous professional growth.

✔ Is dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance.

✔ Builds strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication and collaboration.

✔ Believes children learn best through play, exploration, and intentional adult-child interactions.

Our Expectations

At Kiddie Time, we hire educators who are committed to excellence.

Our team members:

  • Arrive prepared and ready to teach every day.
  • Engage with children rather than supervise from a distance.
  • Follow the HighScope Curriculum and daily routine with fidelity.
  • Complete observations, assessments, and documentation on time.
  • Maintain an organized, engaging classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with their co-teacher and leadership team.
  • Communicate professionally with families and coworkers.
  • Follow attendance expectations.
  • Call management directly when absent or running late (text messages are not accepted).
  • Maintain a positive, solution-focused attitude and contribute to a professional, gossip-free workplace.

Why Kiddie Time?

As a 5-Star Quality Rated program, you'll be supported by a hands-on leadership team that believes in coaching, collaboration, and helping teachers reach their full potential. We invest in our educators through paid training, ongoing professional development, leadership opportunities, and a culture built on teamwork and continuous growth.
