We are rapidly expanding our fiber network and are looking for a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team.
As the Fiber Construction Supervisor at Socket Fiber, you will manage positive relationships with external vendors to bring continuous value for both Socket and the external provider. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and training contract resources to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.
This is not a remote position. Applicant must be located in the Memphis, TN area.
Responsibilities
  • Direct a team of Field Coordinators or Outside Plant Engineers to manage construction contractors to meet company deadlines for fiber duct, fiber installation and splicing through test and activation/close out with quality and safety being front of mind.
  • Set quality and safety standards processes, ensure quality and safety checks are taking place with contractors daily/weekly meetings and reporting documentation is gathered and placed in a company repository.
  • Seek out and manage positive relationships with external partners
  • Work with key internal partners to understand both needs and constraints, creating plans to provide solutions
  • Leverage outside resources to maximize production
  • Manage to timelines and constraints, ensuring there is clear communication to all stakeholders
  • Utilize creative problem solving skills to identify unique solutions
  • Create opportunities to outsource functions currently done internally
  • Identify process efficiencies to drive early success
  • Ensure resources are set up for success: proper training, onboarding and feedback is delivered

Requirements
  • 5+ years experience working in construction, managing projects, providing project support, OR a relationship/client manager
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for project management and construction oversight.
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Previous experience in the telecommunication industry required
  • Previous experience in fiber design and fiber splicing preferred
