Socket is looking for a Network Fiber Technician to join our field operations team. In this role, you'll install, maintain, and repair fiber lines and systems that deliver high-speed internet to homes and businesses across our expanding network. From bucket trucks to problem-solving, you'll help power the infrastructure that fuels the future-and our communities.
This is a great fit for someone who's mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
A Day in the Life
You'll start your day reviewing scheduled installs or repairs, loading up your equipment, and heading into the field. One job may require you to pull fiber to a new home, while the next has you up in the bucket truck making aerial repairs. Throughout the day, you'll coordinate with dispatch, document your work, and make sure everything is completed safely and correctly. Whether it's installing new service or restoring downed lines, your work directly impacts the quality of life for our customers.
What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
  • Install, maintain, and repair mainline and service fiber cables and related equipment
  • Familiarity with bucket truck operation for occasional backup work
  • Be prepared to dispatch to trouble ticket issues to resolve problems and help customers get back online
  • Follow all safety protocols and standards on every job site
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
  • Provide responsive, courteous service during installations or repairs
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs as part of daily tasks
  • Show up consistently and ready to work in all weather conditions
