Job Summary:

The Fertilizer Sales Territory Manager is responsible for developing new customer relationships and nurturing existing accounts to drive fertilizer parts and equipment sales across an assigned territory.

Serving retail, commercial, and industrial customers, this role acts as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact, focusing on strategic territory management and expansion; proactive sales efforts; and exceptional customer support. Success in this position requires strong relationship-building skills, a results-driven mindset, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service to every customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and grow an established territory by regularly calling on existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with prospective customers in the fertilizer market.
  • Build strong, longterm relationships with both new and existing customers, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Provide technical and productrelated support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure timely and accurate product delivery to customers when needed.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets as defined by company leadership.
  • Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Travel:

    This position requires extensive travel across customer territories in the United States for meetings, trade shows, training, and industry events.

  • Approximate travel: 90%
  • Most travel is overnight and outside the local area.
  • Travel will primarily include driving, but may occasionally include flying.
  • Work Environment:

    This position will entail a significant portion of oneโ€™s time driving to customer locations. During those days, the majority of work will be performed remotely from oneโ€™s vehicle, customersโ€™ offices, etc. This position will also require driving and/or flying to industry events such as conferences or training seminars.

    The remainder of the time, this job will operate in a work-from-home/office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.

    Physical Demands:

    This is largely a sedentary role, requiring prolonged periods sitting at a desk/in a vehicle and working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; lift up to 50 lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evenings & weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in fertilizer and chemical handling equipment for the agriculture industry.
  • Easy ability to build strong relationships and listen to the customer.
  • Desire and ability to travel daily with overnight stays.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous field sales experience.
  • Compensation and Benefits:

    Base salary range: $35,000โ€“$38,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

    Compensation also includes commission opportunities. Estimated first-year earnings range from approximately $90,000โ€“$110,000 depending on performance, territory development, and applicable incentive compensation.

    Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), ESOP eligibility, and other Company-sponsored benefits.
