Job Summary:

LSB is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Account Manager to join our sales team. In this role, you will manage client relationships and be a key revenue driver for our fertilizer products within your dedicated sales territory. You will be responsible for being the primary point of contact to your customer base, identifying new opportunities within your territory, and for delivering exceptional service in what is often a fast-paced and dynamic market environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Own a portfolio of accounts and act as the point of contact for all fertilizer sales within the territory
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with each account’s key decision makers
  • Be responsible for the development and execution of sales strategies that are in sync with the broader commercial team objectives
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery teams that fit within the commercial team’s guidance
  • Work with product management, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled as required
  • Seek out new potential customers that are accretive to the portfolio
  • Create and monitor accurate forecasts for sales territory
  • Provide superior customer support by resolving conflicts, providing solutions, and handling customer’s needs in a timely manner
  • Stay current on market fundamentals and provide market related information to key internal stakeholders
  • Maintain customer information, contacts, communications, forecasts, leads/opportunities and sales activities in Salesforce
  • 5-7+ years of experience in commodity sales, account management, or trading
  • An understanding of farming, agronomy, and nitrogen fertilizer markets in North America
  • Be a proven self-starter with a track record of initiative and the ability to work both independently and within a team dynamic
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of effective time-management skills
  • Proven business acumen with a problem-solving mindset
  • Highly developed customer relationship skills with a proven ability to grow and sustain strong relationships
  • Experience operating in office related software (MS Excel in particular)
  • 20-25% Travel Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or an Agricultural relevant field
