Job description

Burckhardt Compression (US) is seeking a Financial Controller. This role is a key strategic partner responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international accounting standards, and supporting informed decision-making across Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc.'s Systems and Services divisions. This role is central to maintaining financial integrity, consistency, and transparency across the company's manufacturing, service, and sales operations.
Responsibilities
    • Lead the monthly, half-year, and annual financial close process in accordance with Swiss GAAP FER, U.S. GAAP, and local regulations.
    • Responsible for the accounting function for the Systems and Services Divisions of Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc. (BCUS), including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, consolidation and reporting.
    • Direct and manage the Accounting and Finance team for both BCUS divisions
    • Support the VP Finance with forecasting and budgeting processes for both BCUS divisions.
    • Monitor and analyze costs to identify savings opportunities and improve efficiency.
    • Serve as a business partner to division leaders, cost center managers and cross-functional teams.
    • Communicate results, analyses and other matters as needed with international corporate office management and leadership
    • Assist in the coordination of the annual financial audit, ensuring that information is provided to external auditors in a timely manner and that any audit issues are communicated to the VP Finance and resolved appropriately and in a timely manner.
    • Assist the VP Finance with reviewing, developing and enforcing internal control policies and procedures within the accounting department and cross-functionally, where necessary.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with financial and operational policies and procedures.

Education/ Experience
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
    • 10+years of experience in accounting or controlling roles, ideally in manufacturing, services or industrial sectors.
    • Strategic mindset with attention to detail and analytical rigor
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP), Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
    • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
    • International experience (preferred)
    • Experience leading a team including setting goals and objectives, monitoring performance and employee development
    • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet schedules.
    • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
