This facility is a respected level 2 trauma center that specializes in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic services. The hospital offers comprehensive cardiac, thoracic, and vascular specialties with state-of-the-art technology and a collaborative team environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care.
Opportunity:
Advanced Practice - Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery, Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery
Job Details:
• NP or PA with required cardiothoracic experience; PAs must know how to perform EVH with approximately 500 cases/10 years experience • Primarily responsible for rounding and medical management, especially on weekends • Typically work 4 10-hour days each week (6:30am-5:00pm) • Monday-Thursday onsite coverage from 7am-4:30pm, starting at 7am to attend CV Surgery Daily Meeting • Friday onsite coverage from 7am-5:00pm • Take ICU call 1-2 nights a week (5:00pm-7:00am) with weekend call rotation • Weekend responsibility includes morning rounding on inpatients with approximately 4 hours onsite (arriving 6am) • Preferred schedule is 7 days on/7 days off from Monday-Sunday • Must bring laptop for call responsibilities • Manage 8-10 inpatient encounters per shift • Daily responsibilities include rounding on all inpatients (ICU, stepdown), evaluating new consults, and discharging patients • OR responsibilities include EVH hemapro 2, training new APPs on EVH, and some open vein harvest with fem-pop surgeries • First assist on cases after learning surgeon routines, with possible OR call for weekend emergencies • Work with high-acuity cardiac patients including CAB, valves, aortic dissections • Support thoracic procedures (robotic surgeries, VATs, thoracotomies, lobectomies, wedge resections, etc.) • Assist with vascular surgeries (CEA, AAA, leg revascularizations) and heart failure cases (LVAD, ECMO, Impella) • ACLS and BLS certifications required • Must be licensed in Indiana or through IMLC • Temporary/emergency privileges available • Estimated credentialing timeframe: ASAP if clean background, 10-30 days
