Job description

Summary of Function: To produce tooling details to very close tolerances from a variety of CNC and manually controlled EDM machines to be used in building fineblanking tools and spare components.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be capable of understanding and operating a variety of sink and wire EDM machines.
  • Produce tooling details from those machines to extremely close tolerances.
  • Make return trips after hours and on weekends to achieve the best machine utilization.
  • Recording of control dimensions from details being produced.
  • Maintenance of machines.
  • Work in close communication with programming and other staff in the tool room to meet delivery dates and maintain quality.
  • Responsible for equipment operation.
  • Housekeeping in and around EDM machines.
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor.
