Job description

Our Company
We believe Running Changes Everything. If you believe that, too, we want to talk. With more than 280 stores and a robust e-commerce site, Fleet Feet is the largest running retailer in the country. Catering to more than runners, we pride ourselves on having an inclusive environment! We believe it's a privilege to serve and to deliver unmatched service and support when outfitting every customer. We run together to solve problems, reach goals, encourage others and champion our brand.
Overview:
At Fleet Feet, we believe the right product at the right time can transform a customer's experience. As an Inventory Manager, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our shelves and systems reflect the accuracy, efficiency, and readiness that define exceptional service. From receiving merchandise and organizing stockrooms to fulfilling online orders and conducting cycle counts, you'll be the operations expert who keeps the product pipeline flowing smoothly.
This role is perfect for someone who loves staying organized, thrives in fast-paced environments, and enjoys collaborating with a team to enhance both backroom operations and front-of-house execution.
If you're passionate about organization, operations, and helping customers get exactly what they need, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now and help us keep the right fit in stock for every runner, every time.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and accessible stockroom to ensure quick replenishment and product availability on the sales floor.
  • Fulfill e-commerce orders with speed and precision, preparing items for shipping or curbside pickup.
  • Process and manage vendor returns, including handling Return Authorizations (RAs) and coordinating logistics.
  • Uphold proper inventory procedures to ensure product integrity and reduce shrink.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to forecast inventory needs and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Support customers on the sales floor using the Fleet Feet outfitting process, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with staff and customers to maintain trust and clarity in all operations.
  • Use sound judgment and consistency to uphold Fleet Feet standards in all inventory and retail processes.

What We're Looking For:
  • 2+ years of retail operations experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Detail-oriented with strong comfort working with numbers and inventory systems.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and deadline-driven.
  • Strong team player who collaborates well across departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in leading, guiding, and supporting others.
  • Calm, consistent, and action-oriented even when things get busy.
  • Committed to going the extra mile and supporting all Fleet Feet initiatives.

Why You'll Love It Here:
  • Purpose-Driven Work: Help customers connect to health and movement by ensuring product availability and accuracy.
  • Team-Oriented Culture: Be part of a supportive, collaborative, and mission-driven team.
  • Dynamic Environment: From the backroom to the sales floor, no two days are the same.
  • Growth Opportunities: Expand your skills in inventory management, leadership, and customer experience.
  • Community Impact: Work for a company that champions local events, fitness initiatives, and inclusivity.

Benefits:
  • 401(k) with 4% Company Match: Available to employees aged 21+ at company-owned stores.
  • Exclusive Discounts: Enjoy savings on industry-leading products and specialized training programs.
  • Professional Development: Grow your career through mentorship opportunities, employee resource groups, and ongoing learning sessions designed to help you reach your full potential.
  • Community Engagement: Get involved in local outreach and service initiatives that align with our purpose-driven mission.
  • Inspiring Team Culture: Join supportive, passionate teammates who live the mission every day.
  • Benefits Summary: For full-time employees (30+ hours/week), check out our Fleet Feet benefits summary for details on healthcare, wellness, and more.

Equal Opportunity & Reasonable Accommodations:
We are an equal opportunity employer and believe having teams in which everyone brings their whole self to Fleet Feet is key to our success. We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. Our commitment to inclusion is reflected in our hiring practices, workplace culture, and community engagement.
