Feet are the lower extremities of the human body that provide support, balance, and mobility. Each foot is made up of 26 bones, over 30 joints, and many muscles, tendons, and ligaments, working together to bear the body's weight and enable walking, running, and standing. Proper foot health is essential for overall well-being, as issues with the feet can impact posture and movement throughout the body.

To thrive as a Foot Care Specialist, you need a comprehensive understanding of podiatric health, anatomy, and infection control, typically supported by certification or licensure in foot care or podiatry. Familiarity with sterilization equipment, wound care products, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is important for daily practice. Compassion, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills help build trust and ensure patient comfort. These skills are crucial for delivering safe, effective care and improving patient mobility and quality of life.
