Material Handler
Location: Whitestown, IN
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

First Call Staffing is Hiring!
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler to join a growing manufacturing team in Whitestown, Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for moving raw materials, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility to support uninterrupted production operations. This position requires forklift operation, inventory management, shipping and receiving support, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive, distribute, and store materials and products in designated locations.
  • Transport raw materials, supplies, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and finished goods counts.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Verify shipments for accuracy, quality, quantity, and proper labeling.
  • Inspect inbound freight for damage and accurate counts.
  • Coordinate and expedite shipments that impact production schedules.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Operate forklifts and tow motors to move materials, clear production lines, and stack products.
  • Occasionally operate equipment outdoors in roadways or parking areas.
  • Assist in resolving shipping, inventory, and material-related issues.
  • Collect and properly dispose of scrap materials, cardboard, and packaging waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of material handling, shipping/receiving, warehouse, or related experience.
  • Experience operating forklifts or tow motors.
  • Knowledge of UPS WorldShip and FedEx shipping software.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Good math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred
  • Forklift Certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently handle and move up to 100 pounds with proper assistance when required.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
