Job description

Federated Co-ops Inc., is hiring for a Seasonal Agronomy Intern to work out of our Albertville Agronomy Location! As an Agronomy Intern, you will learn and work throughout the internship season on a range of designated agronomic projects and help the Agronomy Department with related support activities by performing the following duties with the intent of growing into a more specific Agronomy role.
The Agronomy Internship is scheduled to begin in April of 2026.
Initial Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Seasonal Agronomy Intern include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • The Agronomy Intern will function under the supervision of the Location Manager.
  • Be responsible for assigned sales/research projects.
  • Duties could include monitoring projects throughout the summer, taking pictures, taking soil and tissue samples, and gathering data.
  • Assist our Federated Discovery Plot Cooperator and Federated Agronomist with assigned Discovery Plot related research projects.
  • Present information to agronomy group at completion of project.
  • General field scouting with documentation and diagnose problems.
  • Attend meetings (sales meetings, training events).
  • Assists other agronomists/locations when needed or asked by the manager.
  • Insect, weed, and disease monitoring.
  • Generating computerized detailed field reports.
  • Work closely with producers and fellow employees to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Operate equipment as directed by the Location Manager.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with customers and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Student pursuing a college level degree in agriculture with emphasis on agronomy, crop, soil, weed management, Ag business, or other Ag science course work. Applicant with background in agriculture will have advantages.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

The wage range for the Agronomy Intern is $15 - $16 / hour. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
