Job Description Overview SOSi is seeking a skilled PeopleSoft Payroll Developer to lead the end-to-end design, development, configuration, and implementation of PeopleSoft HCM Payroll solutions In this role, you'll ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll processing by leveraging deep expertise in PeopleSoft tools, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, SQR, and Integration Broker. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-HR, Benefits, and Finance-to deploy scalable Payroll solutions, including Payroll WorkCenter, complex integrations, and custom reporting. This is a hands-on technical opportunity to contribute to a mission-critical initiative that directly aligns with our customer's enterprise objectives and digital transformation strategy. Essential Job Duties * Design, develop, and support PeopleSoft Payroll solutions, including pay calculation, confirmation, garnishments, retroactive pay, and off-cycle processing.
  • Configure and maintain Payroll WorkCenter, including navigation, queries, dashboards, and alerts for payroll operations.
  • Support quarterly and year-end activities, including tax updates, W-2 processing, and compliance reporting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll processing errors, system issues, and integrations with external partners (e.g., benefits providers, tax agencies, financial systems).
  • Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to ensure accurate employee compensation, deductions, and benefit calculations.
  • Develop and maintain reports (SQR, PS Query, BI Publisher, nVision) to support payroll operations and audits.
  • Participate in PeopleSoft PUM updates, tax patching, and payroll-related system testing.
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • Provide technical support during payroll cycles to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
Document technical designs, configuration changes, and payroll process flows. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a PeopleSoft HCM/Payroll Developer.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Strong proficiency with PeopleSoft development tools, including:
  • PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interface, Event Mapping
  • SQR / COBOL (payroll batch processes)
  • BI Publisher, PS Query
  • In-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll processes, including pay calendars, deductions, earnings, garnishments, retro pay, and tax updates.
  • Experience with Payroll WorkCenter setup, customization, and administration.
  • Strong SQL and database skills (Oracle preferred).
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Ability to work under tight payroll deadlines with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Fluid UI for Payroll and WorkCenter enhancements.
  • Knowledge of Leave Management, Base Benefits, and Time & Attendance integration with Payroll.
  • Experience in payroll year-end processing (W-2s, ACA).
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted PeopleSoft environments.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools and payroll process automation.
Strong understanding of payroll security roles, permissions, and audit controls. Additional Information Work Environment Normal office conditions on a secure government facility.
  • Core time of operation are Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
  • May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
