Job Summary

The Federal Medical Center (FMC) is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support services in a correctional healthcare setting. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and Advanced Practice Providers by assisting with patient care, documentation, triage, and clinical procedures while adhering to federal healthcare and security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient medical histories

  • Prepare medical data and required forms for physicians and Advanced Practice Providers

  • Perform and record patient vital signs in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Assist with initial patient triage and chronic care clinics

  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits

  • Assist providers during examinations, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic procedures

Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited institution preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred:

    • CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)

    • RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)

    • NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant)

    • CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)

  • Current CPR/BLS certification required

Schedule
  • Monday – Friday

  • 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • 40 hours per week
