Job Description

The Barista position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The posttion is also responsible for accomplishing duties required of a Concession Worker/Barista to ensure efficient operation of the Nosh concession area.

The Barista: 

  • Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • Assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee, beverages, pastries, whole bean sales, and merchandise.
  • Prepares a variety of customer beverage orders, such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day.
  • Follows policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.
  • Follows standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products; follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines according to Siren’s Eye.
  • Follows cash-handling and register policies.
  • Inspects all areas of responsibility for safety and maintenance needs and takes action as needed; maintains cleaning supplies.
  • Opens and closes outlets in accordance with established procedure to ensure sanitation and to protect company assets.
  • Communicates closely with Lead Barista on all operating issues.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specialty coffee/snack bar operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
  • Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around food service area.
  • Machines and equipment used, but not limited to, include cash register, coffee machine, espresso machine, coffee grinder, grill, fryer, waffle iron, panini press, and Turbo Chef.
  • At times subjected to hazards such as wet floors and hot grease.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
