Senior Federal Business Development Executive — Defense Health

Location: Remote, United States

Employment type: Full-time
Role type: Senior individual contributor
Clearance: A current security clearance is not required to start. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance may be required for future work.

Build Rackner's Defense Health Business

Rackner is seeking a Senior Federal Business Development Executive to expand our presence across the Defense Health and military-health market.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the Defense Health mission, brings credible customer and partner relationships, and can turn market needs into new business.

You will work directly with Rackner's executive, technical, capture, proposal, and delivery leaders. As our business development team grows, your market insight and results will help shape where Rackner competes next.

What You Will Do

  • Build relationships with Defense Health customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify mission needs and develop qualified business opportunities.
  • Create and advance a focused Defense Health pipeline.
  • Open new accounts and strengthen Rackner's market access.
  • Connect customer challenges with relevant technology and services.
  • Develop teaming approaches with primes, small businesses, and technology partners.
  • Work with internal teams as opportunities move through capture, proposal, and award.
  • Represent Rackner at customer meetings, partner discussions, conferences, and industry events.

You will lead front-end business development and remain engaged as opportunities progress. This role does not currently include people-management responsibilities.

What You Bring

You may be a strong fit if you have:

  • Significant business development experience in the Defense Health or military-health market.
  • A demonstrated record of originating, shaping, and helping close new federal business.
  • Meaningful ownership or contribution toward federal contract awards of $10 million or more in total contract value.
  • Current, relevant relationships across Defense Health customer and partner communities.
  • Strong understanding of the Defense Health Agency, Military Health System, military medical organizations, or related acquisition environments.
  • Experience selling federal technology services such as DevSecOps, cloud modernization, AI/ML, software engineering, cybersecurity, or data solutions.
  • The independence, judgment, and follow-through to succeed in a growing organization.

Relevant Defense Health knowledge may come from military, federal civilian, acquisition, operational, clinical, technical, or industry experience.

Broader federal-health or Department of Defense experience may also be relevant when paired with a strong understanding of the military-health mission and customer environment.

You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be able to understand technical capabilities, ask informed questions, and involve the right subject-matter experts.

Why Rackner

At Rackner, you will have the opportunity to help grow a federal technology business supporting critical defense, health, and public-sector missions.

You will do more than manage an existing account list. This role brings together customer engagement, market development, opportunity creation, partner strategy, and close collaboration across executive, technical, capture, proposal, delivery, and mission-focused teams.

Rackner has delivered more than $30 million in recent federal awards and supports mission-critical work across defense, civilian, and public-sector environments. We are looking for a Senior Federal Business Development Executive who can build on that momentum by expanding our Defense Health relationships, developing qualified opportunities, and helping Rackner compete in areas where we can deliver meaningful results.

Benefits & Professional Growth

  • Competitive compensation
  • Company-supported certifications aligned with current and future program work
  • 401(k) with 100% company match up to 6%
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Remote-work support and home-office equipment plan
  • Fitness and wellness reimbursement
  • Weekly pay schedule
  • Professional-development and future growth opportunities

Apply

If you are an experienced federal business development professional who understands the Defense Health or military-health market and wants to expand your impact across customer relationships, technology services, and mission-focused growth, we would like to hear from you.

Rackner is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to any status protected by applicable law.
