Job description

Commercial Vehicle Operator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs complete pre and post operation inspection of a commercial vehicle in accordance with FCC policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels; safety equipment, gauges, etc. are in proper working order
  • Safely operates commercial vehicles on assigned routes to include highways, residential communities and alleyways
  • Operates manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with FCC's safety policies and procedures Operates equipment joystick multiple times per route
  • Courteously interacts with all necessary personnel, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all services are completed in a timely and professional manner
  • Continuously monitors the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time
  • Accurately completes required documents and other reports as required
  • Maintains adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner
  • Adheres to and upholds all safety policies and procedures.
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED
Experience and Competencies:
  • Class B commercial driver's license
  • Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
  • Must meet all qualifications as defined under Department of Transportation regulations
  • Clearinghouse profile required
  • FCC is a drug-free workplace. Substance abuse guidelines are in place. Substance abuse testing is a requirement for both the initial on-boarding procedure and random testing for continued employment.
