Job description

United Precision Products is hiring a Centerless Grinder to support our aerospace fastener manufacturing operation in Dearborn Heights, MI.

We are a 100% aerospace manufacturer producing internal engine fasteners, double-ended studs, and precision components used in critical aerospace applications. This role supports our grinding department and is an important part of keeping production moving as we rebuild capacity and expand operations.

We are looking for someone with hands-on grinding, machining, or precision manufacturing experience. Centerless grinding experience is preferred, but we are open to candidates with strong mechanical ability, measuring skills, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate centerless grinding equipment in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Grind aerospace fasteners and precision components to required specifications
  • Read and follow work instructions, prints, and job travelers
  • Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools
  • Inspect parts throughout production to ensure quality standards are met
  • Make basic machine adjustments as needed
  • Maintain production pace while meeting quality requirements
  • Work closely with supervisors, quality, and production teams
  • Follow all safety, quality, and shop procedures
  • Keep work area clean, safe, and organized

Qualifications:

  • Centerless grinding experience preferred
  • Grinding, machining, machine operation, or precision manufacturing experience required
  • Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and gauges preferred
  • Experience reading prints, work instructions, or job specifications is a plus
  • Aerospace, fastener, automotive, or metal manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Dependable and able to work in a hands-on shop environment
  • Must be able to commute to Dearborn Heights, MI
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
