Rhode Island Fast Ferry operates high-speed ferry service between Rhode Island and Martha's Vineyard, along with scenic lighthouse cruises on Narragansett Bay.

We're a close-knit, high-energy team that takes pride in safe, reliable operations and delivering a great passenger experience. Our crews work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude are key.

The Role

Rhode Island Fast Ferry is seeking Deckhands for our summer season (May - October). This is a great opportunity for high school and college students, or anyone looking for hands-on work in a fast-paced marine environment.

As a Deckhand, you'll play an important role in passenger safety, vessel operations, and overall onboard experience. This is a team-oriented, active position where no two days are the same.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with passenger boarding, loading, and overall safety
  • Handle lines during docking and departure
  • Help maintain vessel cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with luggage handling and passenger needs
  • Support emergency procedures and onboard safety protocols
  • Perform light maintenance and general vessel upkeep
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused work environment
What We're Looking For
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Boating or sailing experience (a plus)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification (a plus)
