Key Responsibilities

  • Design original textile patterns (print, weave, knit, embroidery) for seasonal apparel collections across multiple product categories.
  • Develop trend-forward surface designs that meet creative briefs and align with brand positioning.
  • Create seamless repeat patterns and artwork ready for production (screen printing, digital printing, jacquard, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with fashion designers, product developers, and the sourcing team to ensure fabric selections meet design intent, cost, and technical requirements.
  • Research and forecast seasonal trends in color, fabric, and print, creating inspiration and concept boards.
  • Manage colorways, pattern scale, and fabric mockups across collections and categories.

  • Work with vendors and mills to develop custom fabrics and ensure quality and color standards.
  • Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and production meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in textile/surface design within the fashion or apparel industry.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of textile designs and creative versatility.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and textile CAD programs (NedGraphics, Kaledo, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of fabric construction, printing techniques, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent sense of color, scale, and composition.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for both womenswear and menswear.
  • Knowledge of sustainable textile design and eco-friendly materials.
  • Familiarity with PLM software and working with overseas vendors.
