Job description

T&T Chemical is a family-owned agricultural retailer located in Quinter, Kansas (approximately 50 miles west of Hays). We provide crop protection products, fertilizer sales, agronomy services, and custom application to producers throughout Northwest Kansas.

We are currently looking to add one full-time employee to our team. Depending on the applicant’s experience and interests, this position may be filled as either an Agronomist or a General Laborer.

We are a small business that values hard work, customer service, and teamwork. While we work longer hours during our busy season (April through August), we also place a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Position Option 1: Agronomist

The Agronomist will work directly with customers to provide crop consulting and agronomic recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Scout fields for weeds, insects, and disease
  • Collect soil samples and develop fertility recommendations
  • Answer agronomy and crop production questions
  • Recommend fertilizer and crop protection programs
  • Coordinate custom application work
  • Assist with chemical and fertilizer tendering
  • Serve customers at the retail location
  • Help with equipment and facility maintenance during slower periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agriculture, agronomy, or related degree preferred (not required)
  • Field scouting or crop consulting experience preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for agriculture and helping growers succeed
  • CDL and pesticide license are a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Position Option 2: General Laborer

The General Laborer will focus on supporting day-to-day operations and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Tender fertilizer and crop protection products
  • Load and unload products
  • Serve customers at the retail location
  • General maintenance and upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Assist with custom application operations

  • Operating a self-propelled sprayer
