Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Farm Hand to join our agricultural operation specializing in seed potato farming. This full-time position requires a skilled professional who can oversee daily farm operations, manage equipment, and lead a team of farm workers through all stages of potato production. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience in potato cultivation, demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, and possess proven leadership capabilities in an agricultural setting.

As Lead Farm Hand, you will serve as the primary point of contact between farm management and field workers, ensuring that all farming activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with best agricultural practices. This role demands someone who is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, can make quick decisions, and maintains a strong work ethic throughout the demanding seasonal cycles of potato farming.

Key ResponsibilitiesFarm Operations Management
  • Oversee and coordinate all daily farm operations related to potato cultivation, from soil preparation through harvest and storage
  • Plan and schedule field activities including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and harvesting operations
  • Monitor crop health and growth stages, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective measures promptly
  • Maintain detailed records of field activities, crop yields, equipment usage, and maintenance schedules
  • Ensure compliance with all agricultural regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Requirements
