Join Horizon Farm Credit as a Corporate Loan Officer, where you will apply deep financial expertise, strategic judgment, and industry insight to lead complex lending relationships and drive sustainable portfolio growth across our largest and most sophisticated agribusiness members.
Overview: Horizon Farm Credit is recruiting an experienced Corporate Loan Officer to join our Corporate Lending team. The qualified candidate may work in any available Horizon Farm Credit branch location. To view locations, click here Locations | Horizon Farm Credit. Preferred locations include Mechanicsburg, PA, Mount Joy, PA or Butler, PA. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong financial acumen, experienced managing a large portfolio, and a commitment to helping Members achieve their goals through personalized loan solutions.
In this position, you will serve as the primary relationship officer for the Association's largest and most complex agribusiness borrowers. You will lead the sourcing, structuring, negotiation, and ongoing management of corporate credit relationships, while balancing member needs with Horizon Farm Credit's risk appetite and long-term strategic objectives. You will act as a market-facing representative and subject-matter expert, developing relationships with corporate prospects, executive decision-makers, and centers of influence. In partnership with senior leadership and Corporate Underwriting, you will help shape portfolio strategy, growth initiatives, and credit discipline across the Association.
Areas of Responsibility:
  • Corporate loan officers will use their exceptional relationship-building skills to develop a pipeline of agribusiness prospects and strong industry connections.
    • Proactively identify, source, and develop lending opportunities across Horizon Farm Credit's footprint and, when appropriate, collaborate with other Farm Credit System lenders to expand geographic reach
    • Serve as the trusted financial advisor and primary relationship manager for a portfolio of large, complex, and multi-entity agribusiness relationships
    • Lead strategic portfolio planning and actively manage pipeline, growth targets, and profitability objectives
    • Represent Horizon Farm Credit and the Farm Credit system with a high degree of professionalism and discretion in the marketplace.
  • Corporate loan officers will negotiate credit facilities that align the needs of the borrower with the risk appetite of Horizon Farm Credit.
    • Corporate loan officers are expected to be an important resource to the Members within their portfolio and provide insight and service that allow their businesses to grow and thrive. Provide strategic insight to members by anticipating future capital needs, expansion plans, succession considerations, and risk management strategies
    • Collaborate closely with Corporate Underwriting on complex financial analysis, covenant structures, risk ratings, and ongoing servicing strategies
  • Represent Horizon Farm Credit and the Farm Credit System with the highest level of professionalism in the marketplace, including participation in industry events and public relations activities
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy while leveraging internal resources effectively to deliver a superior member experience
  • Serve as a mentor and technical resource to less-tenured lenders and may provide training or guidance across the lending team

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, agriculture, or a related field required. Generally, eight to ten-plus years of commercial or corporate lending experience, including direct responsibility for large, complex credit relationships. Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or related industries strongly preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in analyzing complex financial statements, business structures, and credit relationships
  • Deep understanding of loan documentation, covenants, compliance monitoring, and reporting requirements

  • Proven ability to develop and sustain high-value referral networks and centers of influence
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, manage competing demands, and operate successfully in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet with members, prospects, and referral partners
  • Ability to establish priorities, take initiative, work under time pressures, and exercise independent judgment.

Salary Range: $107,000 - $148,900, depending on previous experience.
